Plum/green

What a great color combo. I recently really got into this color combination. I don't know WHY I haven't worn these two together more often. I love, love, love green but I somehow missed the "plum" train. Ohhhhh I just love it!

p.s. my sister karin makes silk purse scarves. They are hand dyed. She's all around brilliant.

Arms of a woman

These lyrics by Amos Lee are beautiful...

I am at ease in the arms of a woman.
Although now,
most of my days i spend alone.
A thousand miles,
from the place i was born.
But when she wakes me,
she takes me back home.

Now, most days,
i spend like a child.
Who's afraid of ghosts in my mind.
I know, there aint nothing out there.
I'm still afraid to turn on the lights.

I am at ease in the arms of a woman.
Although now,
most of my days a i spend alone.
A thousand miles,
the place i was born.
When she wakes me,
she takes me back home.

A thousand miles,
the place i was born.
When she wakes me,
she takes me back home.

I am at ease in the arms of a woman.
Although now,
most of my days i spend alone.
A thousand miles,
from the place i was born.
When she wakes me,
she takes me..
Ya, when she wakes me,
she takes me back home.
When she wakes me,
she takes me back home.

New Computer/Day off

Oh how lovely a new computer is! I have been unable to "blog on the go" so to speak for quite a while. I also haven't been able to upload any photos, which is quite sad. I remedied that on Friday so I can blog/photo/music away.

Today, I am sitting in my local Starbucks...enjoying the cloudy/sunny/dog walking kind of day. As our country celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. I celebrate with the day off. Yay! I got to spend some good times with my cousin Pete this weekend...it is really a treasure to reconnect with family. I truly love it.

On the list of agenda items?
-clean my room
-do some laundry
-get some Thai food
-take Misto for a walk

It's really nice to have a three day weekend.

Rachmaninov

Oh the joys of listening to good music.

Favorite piano concerto: Rachmaninov Concerto No.2. I was lucky enough to play in an orchestra where we performed this piece. Breathtaking.

Listen/watch here

Simply fabulous.

Reading the Written Word

Read the Printed Word!

I was just following up on some morning blogs..haha and Celia wrote about reading the written word. I love it!

Celia said she has gotten rid of her cell phone. I'm not sure I can do that, yet. But, I don't have cable or TV anymore. Don't get me wrong, I have movies that I watch but am not sucked into time waster on a day to day basis. It is quite refreshing. I used to be a reality star junkie, in tune with the latest and greatest TV families. Wait, I'm living someone else's realty. I knew about their lives but couldn't fit two pieces of my life's puzzle together. No thanks. I need to present in my life.

Books are a great way to learn. I'm embarrassed to admit my current reading material, but here it goes. It has something to do with a certain vampire and girl named Bella. I appreciate getting lost in the pages of a story. Not all my reading is so elementary in nature but it's FUN! I've got my coffee, Misto curled up at my side, and candles lit. It's a great way to spend a couple of hours.

So cheers to a good book!

Cardigans

Oh how I love them.

I just picked one up at the boutique called Target. Off White, simple, fabulous.

You just can't go wrong. Here why I love cardigans:
-A belt can be worn with it
-Looks great with a dress
-Can be a pop of color, or an added accessory
-Pins look great against it
-Can be worn buttoned for a most "classic" look
-Also goes well with jeans/heels
-Simple
-Come in all different colors/patterns styles

All in all, its just great.
